Ukrainian first lady makes her first trip since the war began
Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska made her first trip outside of Ukraine since the war began, paying a visit to First Lady Jill Biden at the White House this past week. Many high-profile officials and ambassadors joined them in a meeting to discuss mental health issues in Ukraine, especially in the midst of Russia’s war and continued atrocities against the Ukrainian people.
“One of the things that I said when I came back was you cannot go into a war zone, come back and not feel the sorrow and the pain of the people,” the U.S. first lady said. “Every one of our agencies that’s been working on this is going to tell you specifically what they’ve done,” she added. First Lady Zelenska also met with Secretary of State Antony Blinken while she was in Washington.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For First Lady Jill Biden as she advocates for the people of Ukraine.
- For Secretary of State Blinken as he discusses and negotiates agreements with other nations.
- For the leaders and people of Ukraine as Russia continues the war.
